IN MEMORIUM:
Michelle Bycko Schidowka
(July 5, 1977 – September 10, 2018)
Student. Teacher. Singer. Bandurist.
Michelle was a student at our school in the early 1990s, then an instructor in the 2000s, and even was a camp director and staff member for many years at Kobzarska Sich Bandura Camp in Emlenton, PA.
Kobzarska Sich holds a very special place in Michelle’s heart. It is also where she met her husband Nick, and where, today, her children Alex and Sophie attend during these special two weeks in August. It is one of the few places in the world where people gather to share in the beauty and love for the bandura.
After her death in 2018, a memorial fund and scholarship were established. The goal of the Michelle Schidowka Memorial Fund is to provide future children and students the ability to experience the music and beauty of the Kobzarska Sich. If you are interested in donating, click the link below.
