IN MEMORIUM:
Michelle Bycko Schidowka
(July 5, 1977 – September 10, 2018)
Student. Teacher. Singer. Banduristka.
Michelle was a student at our school in the 1990s, then an instructor in the 2000s, and a participant and staff member for many years at Kobzarska Sich Bandura Camp in Emlenton, PA.
Kobzarska Sich holds a very special place in Michelle’s heart. It is one of the few places in the world where people gather to share in the beauty and love for the bandura. It is also where she met her husband Nick, and where, today, her children Alex (Sashko) and Sophie attend bandura camp for two weeks in August.
After her death in 2018, the Michelle Schidowka Memorial Fund and Scholarship were established. Its goal is to provide students the ability to experience the music and beauty of the Kobzarska Sich. If you are interested in donating, click the link below.
